Lateral Entry XI

The main Entry point for admission in Navodaya Vidyalaya is Class: VI through the Entrance Exam Conducted by CBSE. Navodaya Vidyalaya also admit children in Class: IX and XI through Lateral Entry in the vacant seats.

In order to optimally utilize the infrastructure and facilities available in Navodaya Vidyalayas it has been decided by the Samiti to fill up the vacant seats in Class IX through an All India level Selection Test. The district-wise vacant seats in the Vidyalayas are separately notified in local newspapers.

Application for admission in XI Class can be obtained free of charge from the Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of the district concerned, Children are also being admitted against the vacant seats in Class XI on the basis of marks in the previous qualifying examination.






Applications are invited from eligible students for admission to Class XI against the vacant seats likely to be available in JNVs during the Month of June/July every year. Admission will be made on the basis of performance of students in Class X Board Examinations certificate by CBSE / State Education Board.


Criteria for Admission of Students to Class-XI against  vacant seats


Admission of students will be made against available vacancies in Class-XI on the basis of marks secured by students in Class-X Board Exam.

Candidates are required to submit their applications in the prescribed Performa along with photocopies (duly attested by the Head of the Institution last attended) in support of their qualification, caste etc.  The Principal of the concerned JNV will verify these information furnished by the candidates from original certificates at the time of admission. The selected students will be informed by the Principal of the concerned JNV by registered post.
